Victoria Romero – Vice President for EnrollmentRegions: CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT; International Favorite place on campus: Margaret Fowler Garden “This ‘secret garden’ is one of the most serene, tranquil places on the Scripps campus. Shaded by olive trees and beautiful wisteria, the garden includes calming fountains, fragrant blossoms, and stunning artwork. It is simply the perfect place to go and think, read a book, or chat with a friend.” |

Laura Stratton – Director of AdmissionRegions: California: Los Angeles Private Schools Favorite place on campus: Malott Commons “First, the food is great! From fresh greens to yummy desserts, it is the place to recharge at the Claremont Colleges. Second, I love the three distinct dining rooms, which feel more like a close-knit home environment than a cafeteria. Finally, I really enjoy seeing the Scripps community in action: students talking about Core or interacting with faculty members…it’s the best place to sit back and take in the essence of Scripps.” |

Maricela Limas – Associate Director of AdmissionRegions: International Favorite place on campus: Sicilian Court “Sicilian Court perfectly embodies Ellen Browning Scripps’ goal of creating ‘a college campus whose simplicity and beauty will unobtrusively seep into a student’s consciousness.’ Renovated in 2009, the courtyard is built around a 16th century Italian limestone wellhead that was originally believed to be from Sicily. Located between Denison Library and Balch Hall, Sicilian Court is a beautiful combination of green flora and flagstone pavers. Shaded outdoor tables encourage students and visitors to study, relax or just take in the beautiful architecture and landscape.” |

Ashley Pallie – Assistant Director of AdmissionRegions: WA, NY ; California: East Bay Area, Sacramento Favorite place on campus: Seal Court “Seal Court captures the essence of a residential, women’s college. On Wednesdays, Scripps Tea attracts the entire community; classes are even released early so students, faculty, staff, and alumnae can join in conversation, relaxation, and community-building. On Fridays, students flock to Seal Court to buy bread from the student group Challah for Hunger, with proceeds going to refugees in Darfur, or to grab a drink at the Motley Coffeehouse. When many other colleges clear out, Scripps celebrates the weekend, and its residential life, by eating together (another tradition)!” |

Margaret Nilsson – Assistant Director of AdmissionRegions: MN, DC, MD, VA, ; California: Central Coast, Monterey, Peninsula/San Jose
Favorite place on campus: Rose Garden “The Rose Garden has been part of Scripps since the 1930s. It was on the original landscape architect’s plans for the campus grounds. I love the fact that it has always been considered a cutting garden. The students can cut the roses for special occasions or just to brighten up their rooms.” |

Favorite place on campus: Graffiti Wall “Next to the Rose Garden, Graffiti Wall is a place for students to literally leave their mark on campus. Each senior class decorates a portion of the wall as they prepare to become Scripps alumnae. The inscriptions reflect the changing interests and historical context of each class since the class of 1931 first painted their self-portraits.”

Tina Brooks – Admission Counselor, Transfer CoordinatorRegions: Transfer applicants; California: San Francisco, Marin County, Inland Empire, San Gabriel Valley Favorite place on campus: W. M. Keck Science Center “Standing at the intersection of Scripps, Claremont McKenna, and Pitzer Colleges, the Keck Science Center symbolizes the collaborative nature of our joint science department. Not only are students from all three colleges involved in research and learning, but faculty in biology, chemistry, and physics share a single space as well. I also love that the pathway to the Keck Science Center is enlivened by quotes from inspirational women like Beverly Sills, Rachel Carson, and Zora Neale Hurston, setting the mood for the creativity and experimentation that goes on there.” |
|
Connie Wu – Admission CounselorRegions: OR, CO, IL; California: Orange County, San Diego County Favorite place on campus: Sallie Tiernan Field House “The Field House is home to the Scripps College fitness center and is simply a wonderful place to work out and stay healthy. You can enroll in yoga or dance classes, run on a treadmill, or swim in the beautiful pool on one of the many warm and sunny days in California. Though the building is one of the newest on campus, its design and architecture stays consistent with the other gorgeous buildings on campus. Sometimes it feels like you are exercising inside a resort!” |
